Both courses are beneficial, but they serve different purposes:
Abacus: Best for young children (4–12 years) to develop basic arithmetic skills, concentration, and mental calculation.
Vedic Math: Ideal for older students and competitive exam aspirants to improve speed and efficiency in advanced calculations.

Vedic Maths is based on 16 Sutras (formulas) and 13 Sub-sutras (sub-formulas), which simplify mathematical calculations. Here are some key rules with examples:
1. Ekadhikena Purvena (One More than the Previous)
Used for calculating the square of numbers ending in 5.
Example:
35² : Multiple Multiply
3×(3+1)=12 , then add 25
Ans:- 1225.
2. Nikhilam Navatashcaramam Dashatah (All from 9 and Last from 10)
Used for multiplication of numbers close to a base (like 10, 100).
Example: 98×97: Subtract each from 100 -2, -3, multiple -3 × -2 = 6, subtract diagonally 98-3 = 95 , Ans:- 9506.
3. Paravartya Yojayet (Transpose and Apply)
Used for division.
Example: Divide 1234 by 9, Write reciprocal of 9 as 0.1 ,Perform successive division to get the quotient 137.1
4.Urdhva Tiryagbhyam (Vertically and Crosswise) Used for multiplication of two-digit numbers. Example: 12×13: multiple vertically , 2× 3 = 6. Cross Multiple (1× 3) + ( 2×1) = 5 , multiple 1 × 1 = 1 ,
Ans:- 156.
5. Sunyam Samyasamuccaye (When the Samuccaya is the Same, it is Zero)
Useful for solving algebraic expressions:
(X + 3) (X + 4) = ( X + 2 ) (X + 5) Cancel common terms and simplify
Ans:- x = 7 .
These sutras are flexible and can be adapted to a wide range of mathematical problems, making calculations faster and more intuitive.
