How hard is it to get a 79 across all sections in PTE Academic?

Pretty hard, I dare say. The problem is not the test but English and, in India, almost everybody communicates in English and higher education is conducted using only English as the medium. But these test, IELTS/PTE/TOEFL are not looking for the academic skills, rather the usage of the language which is missing in many a people because mundane, small little affairs are all conducted in one's own mother tongue. So, to get 79 you have to start using English 24/7 be it Reading, Listening Speaking or Writing and then, surely you will get 79 or above. Best of luck. read less
