Hi Bharghavi The calculation of raw scores to band scores on PTE is a quite a complex process. If you want to understand it in a simple way every test item has a rubric which is the criteria used for evaluation of your responses. A score of 1 to 5 is given on a scale for which descriptors are given for l fluency and pronunciation play a major role in speaking so points are assigned for each response depending on the quality of your response and for some items here are negative points too. So you net scores are then converted into band score using the binomial distribution where the median score will vary depending on the performance of all the test takers. read less
