To draw a line segment of length 9.5 cm and construct its perpendicular bisector, follow these steps: Draw the Line Segment: Use a ruler and a pencil to draw a line segment of any convenient length longer than 9.5 cm. Label the endpoints of the segment as A and B. Measure and Mark the Length: Starting from point A or B, measure and mark a distance of 9.5 cm along the line segment. Label this point as C. This will ensure that the line segment is exactly 9.5 cm long. Construct the Perpendicular Bisector: With C as the center, use a compass to draw arcs above and below the line segment. The radius of the arcs should be greater than half the length of AB. Without changing the compass width, draw arcs of the same radius from point A and point B. These arcs should intersect above and below the line segment at points D and E, respectively. Use a ruler to draw a straight line connecting points D and E. This line is the perpendicular bisector of segment AB. Now, you have a line segment AB with a length of 9.5 cm, and its perpendicular bisector DE. read less
