I always find myself on the opposite end of majority/popular opinion, also in friendly arguments I somehow end up supporting weaker side, is it normal?

Your opinion is your own and you have every right to have one.. The fact that you find yourself on the opposite end of majority.popular opinion shows that you have the ability to withstand peer pressure and use your own reason and logic to support your cause.
