The marriage could not take place because when the Groom disliked the ugly face of Bholiand only after getting sumptuous dowry he proposed to marry an ugly girl, Bholi denied to get married to such a greedy person. She prefereed to stay unmarried and to serve her parents throughout the life instead,that's why she refused to marry.

This is really very encouraging story and i think this illustration can be used to guide many such girls who either feel rejected in the society because of body shame or any ugliness orabnormality in their physicl or mental features. This can create an awareness that they can also stand out and overcome their shortcomings and can live the life as per their own sweet will.

Yes She realised that her teacher is not forcing her to marry ,rather she was advised to deny the proposal if it did not suit her. She was given the right to choose while her parents were initially asked her to mary without giving her any choice to accept or reject the proposal or to give voice to her likes or dislikes. it was her teacher who made her realise her willingness to accept or reject logically.
