Its a common myth among 10th class students that questions might come from outside the NCERT textbook, but in reality, it never happens. You can be 100% tension free about that. I use to think the same when I was in 10th, because of that I bought RD SHARMA. The other reason for this myth is the tuition teachers and sometimes the faculty or senior students. Instead of buying any other book, a student should revise the 10th class MATH textbook about 20 times, because any student will revise for 5 to 7 times at least in the whole year. It helps in taking a margin between them. Practise is the only key.

When ever any linear equation ask for you to verify that is the point solution of the given equation, it means does the point makes
LHS= RHS
It simply means to put the value in the equation
Here when you will put value of x and y
LHS= RHS =8
SO IT MEANS THAT POINT (1,-2) is the solution of that equation.
Or the submition of the euqation will be zero. ( confused !!!)
