Yes.Put x=1 & y=-2 in the equation i.e LHS=2×1-3(-2)=2+6=8=RHS. Hence the Result.

Consider lhs: 2x-3y Substitute '1' in the place of 'x' and '-2' in the place of y. Then lhs becomes : (2×1)-(3×(-2)) =2-(-6) =2+6= 8 Hence proved.
