You must try to start reading different genre books. It will give you words used in different situations. Also, if you like watching movies or shows, try to watch them in English only. At first, you will face some difficulty, but you will start noticing some changes in your conversation after a month or so. And for the starters, I would highly recommend reading Norman Lewis book 'word power made easy. It has some fantastic ideas as to how you can build your vocabulary.
