P/Q=5/7

7P=5Q .....(1)

Q-(P+6)=2 

Q-P=8

P-Q= -8 ......(2)

From equation 1 and 2,

5Q/7 -Q= -8

After solving this,

Q=28

And P= 20

That is present ages of P and Q respectively are 20 and 28.
