The best way to learn Excel for accounting is by both reading and ding. It is one thing to use Excel; it is another to understand the capabilities that are available to you and attempting to make use of them. Having an application on which to apply your newly acquired skills is a great way to get started. What may start as a simple project could become a much more sophisticated application in a relatively short period. To become an expert is to know everything there is to know about Excel. This means reading and doing a lot with Excel. One should read more than a fair share of books and continue to learn every day as software technologies continue to evolve. Once you become comfortable working with Excel (and VBA for Excel), you will learn to ask questions that will stretch beyond the realm of current common knowledge and tread into the unknown. read less
