In Microsoft Excel, you can save macros in your workbook permanently by storing them in the workbook itself. Here are the general steps to save macros in Excel: Save a Macro in Excel: Open Excel: Launch Microsoft Excel on your computer. Open or Create a Workbook: Open an existing workbook where you want to save the macro, or create a new workbook. Enable the Developer Tab: If the Developer tab is not already enabled, go to "File" > "Options" > "Customize Ribbon." Check the box for "Developer" in the right column and click "OK." Record a Macro: Click on the "Developer" tab in the ribbon. Click on "Record Macro" to start recording your macro. Provide a name for your macro, choose where to store it (in "This Workbook" is a common choice), and click "OK." Perform the actions you want to record in your macro. Click on "Stop Recording" when you're done. View and Edit the Macro: To view or edit your macro, click on "Developer" > "Macros." Select your macro and click "Edit." This opens the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor. Save the Workbook: After recording and editing your macro, save the workbook. The macro is now saved as part of the workbook. Note: Macros are typically saved with the workbook, so if you share the workbook, the macros will be available to others who open it. If you want to save a macro to use in other workbooks, you can create a personal macro workbook (a hidden workbook named "Personal.xlsb") and store your macros there. This way, the macros will be available whenever you open Excel. Save a Macro to the Personal Macro Workbook: Record or Open a Macro: Record a new macro or open an existing one. Choose Personal Macro Workbook: When saving the macro, choose "Personal Macro Workbook" as the location. Save and Close Excel: Save your changes and close Excel. The personal macro workbook is automatically opened when Excel starts. Use Macros in Other Workbooks: Now, when you open Excel, the personal macro workbook is loaded, and you can use your macros in any new workbook. Remember, if you share workbooks containing macros with others, they may need to enable macros and trust the source to run them successfully. read less
