CAT
Common Admission Test (CAT) is undoubtedly one of the toughest entrance exams in India. GATE
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an engineering entrance test that gauge the knowledge and understanding of various undergraduate subjects - science and engineering. It is conducted under the joint supervision of Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of National Coordination Board -- GATE. The score is used to take admission into various Engineering, Technology & Philosophy post-graduate programs. The GATE score is even used to select candidates for PSU companies.
UGC-NET
National Eligibility Test is conducted to test the eligibility of a candidate to teach in college and university level and to award Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) to Indian nationals who wants to enter the teaching profession and research. In 2013, Union Grants Commission announced NET scores (candidates who successfully clear the exam) would be eligible for PSUs jobs. The NET exam primarily tests the teaching or research aptitude, reasoning ability, divergent thinking, general awareness and comprehension ability of a candidate.
