My 10th score is 93.2, 12th is 75.4, and my graduation CGPA is 8.9. Will my low 12th score be a bummer to get admission to top IIMs? PS. General Male Engineer

Give your best in CAT exams because the percentile will decide which IIM you will be called to. 2. Practice your SOP well; this is a vital deciding factor. 3. Prepare well for the interview. IIMS have various factors on which the admits are decided, and this will certainly not create a hindrance unless you underperform in any of the above tests. Good luck! read less

Hi Ashish,Your only concern is the 12th score, which, I agree, is low from the perspective of some IIMs which mandate a specific percentage score for 10th and 12th. But, overall, you have a pretty good chance at most IIMs, including the top ones. Of course, everything will rest on how well you do in...

Since you cannot change your class 12 score, focus on CAT and WAT/GD-PI preparation. If you do well there, you will be well on your way to a top IIM.:) read less

GEM: Yes. It would be best if you started focusing on other entrances and institutes. Remember that IIM is not an end of the road! All the best for CAT!

Hi Ashish, Yes you can get into top IIMs (BLACKS) provided you score above 98 percentile.

Hi Ashish, I can assure you that with the right effort, your score won't be standing in the path for top IIMs. Your acads are better than mine still I had a call from IIMs K, L, S, C this year.

If you aim for top IIMs, 90+ percentage in 10th and 12th and 80+ percentage in graduation is always advantageous because it has upto 25% weightage in IIM Admission. You meet the criteria for 10th and Graduation, but 12th scores are not that low that it can't get you admission to top IIMS. The percentage...

You meet the criteria for 10th and Graduation, but 12th scores are not that low that it can't get you admission to top IIMS. The percentage of students getting admission in top IIMs with less than 70% marks in 12th is dismal 4%. It means that you are in the 4% bracket. This also means you have a window to get into top IIMs.You can make up for a portion by excelling in another. My advice: 1) Get 98+ percentile 2) Score well in GD & Personal interview. 3) Work experience will be an added advantage, but it's not mandatory. read less

Hi Ashish, I hardly doubt your 12th score is low. You got quite well. Don't worry about it & focus on your coming exams only and GDPI after written exams; these only should decide your further journey. All the Best!

Management professional with overall 6+ years of experience across industries.

Hi Ashish, Your 10th and grads are outstanding. There will be some weights for the 12th, which you can find from the respective IIM's criteria, but you have a great chance. Also, if you have work-ex, then definitely 12th won't be a problem at all.

No, we can have a story for every drawback, but it will always be honest. In the end, your cat score is essential to get you into the interview. Only at the interview, they will consider this score. First, concentrate on Cat. This is a myth. Yes, it will be a factor to add you more points, but ultimately,...
