Is growing population a threat to environment? Why?

the increase in the population leads to a rise in the demand of basic human needs which are food, water and shelter. thus , increasing population requires more land for settlement that leads to cutting of more forests(deforestation). this disturbs the balance of environment causing many species to die.... ...more
the increase in the population leads to a rise in the demand of basic human needs which are food, water and shelter. thus , increasing population requires more land for settlement that leads to cutting of more forests(deforestation). this disturbs the balance of environment causing many species to die. Also deforestation leads to increase in the rise of earth's temperature because the trees absorb the heat , but cutting of trees leads to global warming causing a rise in natural disasters. The tall building structures block the heat of sun and is a cause for many diseases and environmetal pollution.
