The covalent bond is the bond formed due to sharing the one-electron each from the two entities involved. Carbon has valency 4, it can accept four or donate 4 electrons to get stability according to the octet rule, but these two possibilities are not so familiar as for energy factory, i.e., energetically not suitable.
