Let present age of P is x and present age of Q is y. Now x/y = 5/7 = 5k/7k
Then x=5k and y=7k
Again x+6 - y = 2 or 5k+6 -7k = 2 or 2k = 6-2=4 or k = 2
Therefore Present Age of P is x=5k=10 and
Present Age of Q is y=7k=14
Total Present age of P and Q = x+y = 10+14 = 24
