volatile tells the compiler that the value of a variable must never be cached as its value may change outside of the scope of the program itself. two threads can shared one value without changing its original value..

The volatile keyword in Java is used as an indicator to Java compiler and Thread that do not cache value of this variable and always read it from main memory.
