A covalent bond is a chemical bond that involves the equal sharing of electron pairs between two atoms.
Carbon is a non-metal of group-14, having 4 electrons in its valence shell. Due to this, it can neither donate nor accept another 4 electron to complete its octet or form a noble gas configuration. So it shares electron to form a covalent bond.
Eg. :- Carbon Tetrachloride
