Hi, this can be done either using arrays or vba....as i dont go on vba unless i really think that it cannot be done using advance excel. here is the formula for you..MID($A$2,SMALL(((ROW(OFFSET($E$1,,,LEN($A$2),)))),ROW()-1),1)
