There's no age restrictions in the fields of learning. You've to make your own choice from different musical instruments. Listen to your heart, not other's.

Dear Student, 31 is a good age to start learning Music, if you do not know where to start then I would recommend that you need to start your search for a real spiritual Music Guru, and seek his/her advice to begin. to start your musical journey, learning with Flute and/or Harmonium would be a good idea to start with, however it also depends on your choice of the instrument. I would recommend that start learning the instrument which you like the most and then once you are an expert of that instrument may be you can go ahead and learn other instruments also at a later stage. If you live in Bangalore you may contact me for learning music on a fast track. Wishing you all the best. God Bless you. Alok Sharma. read less

Why not make a beginning today, and reach out . At this age it is not too late to start. If the real interest is there that is most important. Also you should be ready to put in a bit of regular practise. Learning any new skill at whatever age requires some dedicated and regular disciplined and committed practise. You should be also regular for classes. Then your learning processwill be enjoyable and fruitful. You should do a self-check on whether you can find the time, regular time for this activity - given that you may have a regular job or something like that which you need to definitely give priority to. If you are open, any instrument is fine. But if you have a strong attraction towards some instrument, - I feel there is none, since you have not strongly indicated, - some musical instruments you said - then go by some tutors advice. Also depends on how easily you get a tutor. If you have a neighbour is a guitar player and a tutor also, you can explore learning guitar. You dont have to keep searching all over the world. This is the reason I suggested you can reach out to us. We teach mainly flute. Also it depends on the style of music which you feel most interested in- for example, western music or Indian music whiich has two main streams North Indian (sometimes also called Hindustani music) and South Indian (sometimes also called Carnatic music) are the three main styles that as a beginner you can get introduced to - this is for melodic instruments. If it is rhythm,. again - the western drums, or Carnatic mridangam or Hiindustani Tabla are the options. A rhythm instrument is very very different from a melodic instrument in the music that it produces, and in the way you play. So someone may have a very good aptitude for a rhythm instrument but not so much for a melodic instrument. A melodic instrument is one on which you can play tunes - for example, janagana mana, happy birthday, dum maru dam, etc are melodic tune. While the rhythm instruments can accompany and support these tunes, they cannot be generally used to play the tune itself. read less

How many chords are there in keyboard. How much time will it typically take to pick up speed?
Your question itself is not correct. A chord is when 2 or more keys are pressed on the keyboard. A triad is a chord when the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes of a scale are played together. e.g if C,E & G keys are pressed together the C triad (chord) played.
