Hi, Does any of our experts here have diploma or MA in music, qualified through distance learning? I need some info and suggestions and its urgent so I thought this is the best place to communicate. Would be awaiting for your replies. Thanks :)

University of Madras offers a CERTIFICATE COURSE IN MUSIC - which is for 6 months....practical classes during weekends only....covering from Saraliswaras to RTP....No written examination etc. Completing this certificate course will give you eligibility to study M A Music through their Distance Education IF YOU ARE ALREADY A GRADUATE IN ANY DISCIPLINE. You have seek admission in govt college to pursue diploma/MA in Music. Distance learning is not possible. You can on the other way learn from learned mentors/ teachers who can send you for authentic exams under their guidance

I dont think it makes much difference...some times you will get the only benefit of Scale....otherwise the teacher has to shift into your Scale to teach you but in same gender case, you will find no scale shifting issues...
