There is nothing called an average student, if you think that if a certain student is just average in physics\chemistry\maths and hence an average student, then you are grossly mistaken, just see that how interested the student in learning these subjects, if he is interested he will figure out the way...

If the candidate built with strong basics it is enough to crack IIT. That can be decided by student caliber when to start foundation course.
