The IELTS band score is between 1 to 9. To score a 9 in IELTS means you're an "expert" in English; if you score an 8, you're "very good" in English. Everyone wants to get a high band score, in fact, many test-takers are attempting IELTS several times to get 8+ due to different reasons. In case to get an 8+, you need to be clear about these basic things. 1. Listen to English every day 2. Listen actively to a range of conversation 3. Have a strategy or skill 4. Practice wisely 5. Reflect on your mistakes 6. Focus on what to study Remember that practice papers should be challenging because the IELTS exam is challenging. If you don't find practice papers challenging, you probably aren't practising carefully. Ensure to complete your practice papers under the same time situations that you will be in the exam. This will allow you to develop a solid time management strategy. Take a notebook and a pen and make it a part of your habit to write down words that you consistently misspell, misspeak or mishear. If you appreciate what you are doing, you will find it easier to do it consistently. Studying doesn't always have to be tedious or difficult! All the best! read less
