To answer this question, we need to look at the structure ofthe test. IELTS has two versions, Academic and General. Academic caters to students and a minimum class X passout is mandatory. The reason is the validity fo the test, which is two years. So, a nine passed student will have to reappear. But, a minor planning to study abroad will need to clear this test. For General, many skills are required and educational qualification is not needed. So, anybody can appear for the test. read less
