I got 8.5 in listening and 9 in reading, but only 5.5 in both writing and speaking in IELTS, what should I do?

After going through your scores , one thing is evident that for writing module you are not following the correct strategy and as far as speaking is concerned , you should practice the recent questions that are being asked from the students. This would definitely help you to improve your score .

In listening and reading your band score entirely depends on number of correct answer you provide. But speaking and writing have 4 criteria of assessments. You should know exactly what qualities in these two components will take you from band 5.5 to 7.5. For example, demonstration of different kinds of sentence structures and use of uncommon words etc., to say a few. The suggestion is to get trained under a good trainer. read less
