You can prepare for IELTS by yourself; there is no doubt about it. But for that, you should be focused and organised. Familiarise yourself with the test format by reviewing the contest as well as the question. First practice with sample test questions. You should work out the official IELTS practice materials, and you can also consider a preparation course. When you register yourself to take this test, you'll also receive a practice book. But, you must start your preparation early, and make sure you track your progress. The first and foremost tip is to understand the question asked by the interviewer. If you don't answer according to the question, it's not going to help you. Make sure your spelling is correct when it comes to the writing section and get a list of vocabulary for each type of writing task. Also, you need to work on complex sentence structures to get a good score. You can listen to news and documentaries on various topics in English and make sure to read books often. Work under a professional IELTS trainer and ask for feedback to your level. Towards the edge of your IELTS preparation, exercise with full-length tests under realistic situations, at least for a few weeks before the test date. Hope this helps you. All the best! read less
