First of all, scoring the desired band score in the IELTS first attempt is always tough, especially if you're looking to score above band score 7 in each section. Prepare yourself well enough before taking the exam. If not, you'll waste a lot of time, energy and money too as this exam is costly. You'll have to pay around 13 thousand when you book your exam slot itself. Thus, ensure that you practice enough to clear it in the first attempt itself (it is tough but not impossible). This is to help you avoid thinking or worrying about taking it once more. a. One of the best tips to crack IELTS is to practice, especially writing and reading as these two sections can be nerve-racking sometimes. b. Learn new vocabulary and linking words to make your sentence appealing. c. Try reading books every day and listen to the news and podcasts if possible. Start working on the complex sentence structures to get a good score. d. To enhance your speaking skills, you must involve yourself in English as fully as possible. If required, get trained by a professional IELTS trainer and seek continuous feedback. e. Start exercising with full-length tests under realistic situations for several weeks before the test date. You should prepare for this exam as early as possible because mugging up at the last-minute usually doesn't turn out well. Schedule yourself and finish off all the practice tests a week before. Hope this helps! read less
