There is no fixed rule for it as many institutes very visible to us have very poor quality of teachers so best way is to consult successful candidates of previous year or faculty ( If you know presonally)

Instead of Coaching centre name, first it's better to have alook at team of faculty and what is their subject expertise and then comes experience. In brand name is only sugar coating word.Have deep insight into the institute and keep some conversation with them

Few factors to the best of my knowledge in selection on coaching institute should be: 1. The success rate (do not accept the rate quotes blindly ask them about the students appeared from the institute and the number of selection) Though the same is not reliable as data is to be obtained from interested party. 2. The number of students in a batch (More students less personal attention) 3. Faculty experience and competence (More the better) 4. Faculty availability for problem solution post class. 5. Availability of library and books in the library. 6. Commitment of management and faculty in the business. 7. Ask any students who had studied earlier/currently studying to get true review. (Most reliable but can be dangerous to rely as everybody have his own perception.) 8. Last and important one, talk with teacher and management to understand them and decide yourself for your future. Above are just suggestions and I request you to make your own decision. You can surely take help of above points to gauge your decision parameters. read less

Suit your timings if you are working professional 3. Discuss with them (institute) about their teaching methodology for the exams. This discussion is required to gain confidence on their past results/ranks 4. For any entrance exam, practice makes one perfect. While practicing you may come across some doubts. So, check with the institute whether doubt clarification sessions are arranged or not. 5. Ask the institute whether they provide sophisticated material and Mock tests. 6. Take feedback from your seniors/friends if they joined with the same institute already. read less

There is no fixes rule for it as you can't know who will teach you after joining a coaching . As I am aware abt coachings related to iitjee and medical so I can tell you about these . For iit Jee , you must join vidyamandir classes for medical Allen is best option.
