Prakash Thakur is the disciple of Pandit Vidyasagar Sharma (Punjabi gharana) a national gold medalist in the field of music.
Prakash Thakur is learning music since the age of 8 , in the guidance of his father. Professionally he started learning Indian classical music from his guruji since 2012. During this short period of time he got an opportunity to associate with Sony Music Private limited in association with India vision foundation,(Dhun project) in march 2018 as an instrumental and vocals trainer. He was associated with Tansen sangeet mahavidyalaya sector 46 gurugram.
Presently he is associated with Tansen sangeet mahavidyalaya IMT manesar as an Indian classical vocal trainer from 8th March 2018 and running his own Music Academy named “Sangeetagya” in Saraswati vihar gurugram.
In between he got an opportunity to get selected and visit in the prison and also to train music basics to the inmates with Dr. Kiran Bedi's NGO, got a chance to meet her, to share the different ideas about the music( it’s psychological impact,mental health, Music as a career) to her NGO's Director.
Prakash Thakur has performed in National Youth Festival 2016 held in Raipur Chhattisgarh.
Also he has got a chance to judge a few shows including the North India's KV (Ph D) program held in maneser in 2019. He taught more than 200 students till now.
He has been performing live in the various events with his band.
Currently he is producing music and writing his own content (to be produced in future) as an independent artist under his banner “Sangeetagya” and running a YouTube channel named ‘Prakash Thakur Music'
