The best beginner guitar is a steel-stringed acoustic guitar (because it's the easiest guitar to learn with). The body shape of your ideal guitar is due to your personal preference.

Go with the acoustic one, because it's the natural sounding instrument and you don't have to go through the hassle of plugging in different gadgets like paddle and Amp, to play guitar as you would for the electric one. Secondly you might fall in love with the wood and it's texture, and the feel of the string it's tensile strength, it's sound. I think these points should be enough to hook you in. How much time will it take to learn electric guitar?
Completely depends on how much you practice. The instrument gives back what you give to it. Also I feel one keeps on learning. Yes you could start playing chords of your favourite songs in 2 months dedicated practice time.
