What is the best way to remember note positions on a guitar?

find a note on the first string ( F# for instance) and then find that note on the next string and the next string etc, do that for all 12 notes and soon you will start to memorize the frets as note names instead of numbers on each string.

First You have to memories all notes. (C, D, E, F, G, A, B) Then only memories that E & B has no sharp or flat note. Then take 6th string of guitar at 3rd fret position, this note is G' memories that note name. So 4th fret will be G#. So like this you have to memories all strings note in 3rd fret position....
