Guitar intonation is measured with the respect of open string and the note on the 12 th fret ! Our phn or normal tuner can not trace the 1/10 of the accuracy of the original note! You need to buy a professional tuner to trace that .

Guitar Intonation Adjustments: A Key Aspect of Guitar Training If you're looking for expert guidance on guitar intonation adjustments, you're in the right place. As a registered tutor on UrbanPro.com, I'm here to provide you with essential information on this important topic. Guitar intonation adjustments are a crucial aspect of guitar training, and understanding them can make a significant difference in your playing experience. Here's what you need to know: Understanding Guitar Intonation Intonation refers to the accuracy of a guitar's notes across the fretboard. Proper intonation ensures that when you play a note on one part of the fretboard, it's in tune with notes played on other parts. Why Guitar Intonation Matters Accurate intonation is vital for a guitar to sound harmonious and in tune when playing chords, melodies, and scales. It ensures that your guitar doesn't sound out of tune as you move up and down the neck. Factors Affecting Intonation String Gauge: The thickness of your guitar strings can impact intonation. Lighter or heavier strings may require adjustments. Action: The height of your guitar's strings over the fretboard affects intonation. Higher or lower action can lead to tuning issues. Fret Wear: Worn frets can disrupt intonation, causing notes to go sharp or flat. Neck Relief: The bow of the guitar neck influences intonation. Proper neck relief is essential. Bridge Saddles: Adjustable bridge saddles allow fine-tuning of each string's length. How to Adjust Guitar Intonation Tune Your Guitar: Ensure your guitar is in standard tuning before making adjustments. Use a Tuner: A digital chromatic tuner is essential for precise intonation adjustments. Adjust Bridge Saddles: To correct intonation, move the bridge saddles forward or backward as needed. Use a screwdriver or an Allen wrench. Re-Tune and Re-Check: After making adjustments, re-tune your guitar and check the intonation again. Continue this process until your open strings and their corresponding fretted notes are in tune. Check Each String: Intonate each string separately, as each may require different adjustments. Consult a Professional: If you're unsure about making intonation adjustments, it's best to seek the help of a professional guitar technician.
