0What I often notice is that guitarists tend to play the scale(just the scale in a scalar fashion) while improvising a solo. Well that doesn't create melody. Break the scale into parts or chunks and form a melody by creating small licks. Do this with the rest of the parts you have at your disposal and join them. Check whether they match with each other and play to a jamtrack...Just blindly playing up and down the scale wont help with your playing...Hopefully this helps!!!
