Its a guitar too. A string instruments with frets, fingerboard and pickup which similar to electric guitar.. Same scale same notes almost everything's same just a tip of different technique.

Yes, it’s sometimes called a “bass guitar.” It’s an electric guitar with heavier strings that are tuned to lower pitches. Some electric basses even have six strings, and the whole thing is tuned like a guitar, but an octave lower.
