Hi Biswas, First of all : learning guitar has nothing to do with your age, gender, profession, experience, exposure towards music. All you need to have is : INTEREST. The more you are interested the more you will learn. Just take help of a nice tutor and have a happy learning... All the best.

Hey Biswas, It takes 3 to 4 months to understand and play the guitar with minimum 20 minutes practice everyday. After that it's up to you.

Hello Biswas, To answer how long it would take to learn a Guitar is very difficult. Because it all depends on how much time you have got to practice daily. To start with, If you can spare 1-2 hours daily, It will take minimum 6 months to learn the basics and play some simple songs. Again I am not generalizing things here. It depend on students, the right was of practice and a good teacher to guide you. Age or talent is not a factor to learn any thing new in life I guess. But yes, Interest is a big factor. I have seen many talented people not working hard and getting frustrated without reaching anywhere. Also seen old, normal ordinary people doing extra ordinary things because they took an effort to learn and apply new things. If you have that fire to learn Guitar, you will succeed with in no time. I am 42 and I am still learning many new things. No big deal. Good luck!! Francis read less

Learning to play the guitar is not a joke. Or any instrument, for that matter. It takes hours and hours of practice turning into years. At the minimum (unless you are exceptionally talented) you will need to practice for a minimum of 2 years to be able to play something worthwhile listening to. Tell me, did you finish the first 10 years of school in a hurry ? Did you pass out of school in say, 3,4,5 years ? Then why the hurry for the guitar. Please understand that this is an art... talent.... which has to be developed (provided you have some, to start with). Just as you would learn your tables, sums, science and other subjects in school, so it is with the guitar (or any instrument). You just cannot do it in a short period. Moreover, the guitar is a physical instrument, requiring you to develop your finger muscles (which are difficult to control) to an extent that you can control each finger as you wish, individually. Love the music, love the guitar and keep practicing...WITHOUT expecting immediate results. One day... and soon enough, you'll find that you can play well. Patience, practice and perseverance are the three P's to learning any musical instrument. All the best. read less

First of all its not at all the matter of age. To learn music there is no age limit. If the individual is a beginner then he/she will take minimum 6 months to learn basic chords and scales. After learning this then there are two ways - A. If interested in staff notation then the student will be taught according to staff notation theory. B. If not interested to learn through staff notation then we will directly go to chord theory. Again chord theory will take around 6 months. And further we will be teaching according to the student's interest towards different genres (eg: pop, rock, classical). - See more at: https://www.urbanpro.com/comment/save#.dpuf read less
