First of all, it totally depends on your practice and how much time you dedicate to the instrument and second, if you do so properly, then I can complete basic guitar syllabus in 3 months.

The more you practice the more you polish it the more it gets better and shines. At least a year you need to play songs. read less

You would need at least 36 lessons to be ready for Prep/ Grade-1 Level assessment of ABRSM.

Just follow principle of 3D's i.e, Dedication, Devotion and Determination. and practice daily as much as you can, there will be a day when you will start understanding your own pluckings ans strumming, it can be a week,a month or a year, its up to you how you make it easy.

What other Guitar accessories are needed?
picks, capo, tuner, strap (basic accessories) sometimes a footrest if you are playing classical guitar. For electric guitars you would want to have an amplifier a guitar effects processor and 2 connecting cables.
