It isn't very hard. It takes a lot of practice and dedication. I am a self taught guitarist and I've dealt with numerous callouses and difficulties but it's all about practicing and working hard. Once you get the basics down, It's really easy to move ahead.

It is 99% impossible to learn Guitar by yourself. If you are watching YouTube videos to learn then it is another mayter. Coz you will be learning from copying others, that doesn't mean that you are learning it by yourself. Copying others will later on demotivate you in the future. If I portrait your question in another way round that is "Can I learn how to play trumpet or alpha horn by myself??" It is again 99% impossible. 1% is possible only if you are super gifted with knowledge and are doing research on how to play it. Other wise it is better to look for a teacher who will guide you to his/her best knowledge. read less
