How does an electric guitar work?

It works like a normal guitar only. Its also called spanish guitar. It should be connected to an amplifier for producing the sound. The sound comes through an amplifier in case of an electric guitar. It has pickups attached to it which produces the sound in electric guitar.

Although it is similar to the normal guitar... But the sound comes from the amplifier instead of guitar strings.
