The guidance and your practice decides your level and excellence. If you are under good guidance, regular & practice sincerely you can play a good level of guitar in 1 year. If your a beginner than be sure to start with acoustic guitar & then electric guitar. Good Luck!

Hi Kalpana. Mastering a thing is totally self dependent. How fast you can catch up things and how dedicated you are about your practice or lessons. It is said that, if you give an hour everyday for your instrument you gain an semi professional sense with in a month or two. When I started learning guitar, I played chords like a professional with in a month. I've seen many students, learning guitar for 2 years but can't even hold a particular chord shape properly.
