His teaching technique is best as he teaches the concept with examples and practices test cases on live application. He ensures the student revises previous topics thoroughly before proceeding to the next module. I recommend sir to all who wish to begin a career in software testing. Sometimes timings may be a barrier as sir is already working in QA profile and may sometimes postpond classes because of full slot of students.

For any beginner, it is always recommended to start with manual and after gaining knowledge move into automation for better carrier growth.

It totally depends on the project you are working on. There are different projects in which automation can be applied and that may reduce the overall cost of the project and increase the credebility of the project. On the other hand manual testing is very important in different Web based, Mobile based and native applications. Remember, you may apply automation in your project but you can not skip manual testing of the same project. If you are beginner try to learn manual testing first and after gaining experience for some years try to learn automation also.

If you are looking for software testing, try to know basics about it. Then, once you have made your mind, try to explore institutes in you area. Read the reviews of these institutes. Communicate with the students who are still studying in these institutes. And, one last thing, you may choose any trainer or institute but try for someone, who is working in the QA profile, as he will be able to guide you according to the Industry standards.

Does ISTQB have only annual exams? Or is it conducted more than once a year?

ISTQB exam is conducted every month. Generally, dates are scheduled for the current month and the next one or two months. Once you feel you are ready to the exam you can register yourself on the ITB site (Indian Testing Board, url: http://istqb.in/) according to the comfortable date.

Basic knowledge is needed to start your carrier in software testing. First try to learn tge processes, models, different approaches of testing. If you are a fresher start by gainig little knowledge and then once you are clear with the concepts try to have some practical exposure.
