Each lesson is customized to the student’s vocal texture, learning pace, and musical goals—whether they aim to perform, record, or simply grow as vocalists. Key Areas of Focus: Voice Culture & Technique: Exercises to improve vocal range, strength, flexibility, and clarity. Raga-based Training: Teaching the structure, improvisation, and emotional expression of ragas in Hindustani classical. Performance Skills: Stage presence, microphone technique, and expressive delivery during live or studio performances. Song Interpretation: Helping students connect emotionally with lyrics, emphasizing bhava (expression) in performance. Ear Training: Developing pitch recognition, harmonic understanding, and tonal memory. Recording Readiness: Coaching for studio singing—layering, dynamics, and working with producers. I have prepared students for school and college competitions, YouTube content creation, music exams (like Gandharva Mahavidyalaya or Trinity College for Western styles), and even professional studio recordings. Many of my students have gone on to perform at cultural festivals, produce original music, and pursue music more seriously. I incorporate digital tools like Tanpura apps, pitch detection software, DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) for self-practice, and encourage students to maintain a riyaaz journal to track progress. My teaching philosophy combines the discipline of traditional training with the creativity of modern musical expression—ensuring students not only learn technically but fall in love with their own voice and its possibilities.

Foundations & Technique I emphasize correct posture, hand positioning, and fingerstyle/pick technique from day one. Students learn essential open chords, bar chords, and scales through progressive exercises. I integrate rhythm training and finger independence drills early on to build a solid technical base. 2. Music Theory Integration I teach practical theory, including intervals, chord construction, keys, and modes, woven directly into the songs or styles students are learning. I use fretboard visualization techniques to help students connect theory to their instrument. 3. Song-Based Learning I personalize song selections to each student’s interests—be it Bollywood, pop, rock, indie, or classical fingerstyle. Students apply techniques and theory in real musical contexts, improving both their ear and performance skills. 4. Improvisation & Composition I encourage creativity by introducing students to basic improvisation over scales and chord progressions. For more advanced learners, I guide original songwriting, chord progressions, and soloing concepts. 5.
