I think, it is better to charge in advance or in installments too. Students leaving the class half way is always a worry.

Many times people 'forgot' to pay, for this reason they have to pay in advance. Some pay 10 lessons in advance if they take thrice a week 2 classes and others, have to pay at least 4 lessons in advance. Do not get tricked please. Also do not allow people not to appear, is should be called off at least 4 hours prior to the class, else they should also pay 50 percent. I gave too many free lessons, its not worth it, no one appreciates you, best to give clear guide lines for payment and missed classes. Best wishes, Alles Liebe, Sabine read less

Well I charge half of the fees after 2-3 sessions and the rest half before the exam prep of that particular level. Till now though it has never happened that student didn't pay the rest. I guess it has to do with your methodology of teaching if one will pay or won't

Tutor

You should always take the fee from the student in the second lecture.
