Goethe-Zertifikat laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It is an examination which adults can appear for. If you gain this certificate, then you have acquired advanced language skills and have reached the fifth level (C1) on the six-level scale of examination. Passing this level of examination signifies that you can: Understand a wide range of complex and longer texts written in German When required, you can have a conversation in German, without having to look for the meaning of the words Use the language effectively and flexibly in your profession, or studies Provide your detailed view of any topic in German Now, if you wish to reach the German Goethe Institute C1 standard in a year or less, you will have to undergo a rigorous study and intensive training. It also depends on the level at which you are. If you are starting from the beginners level, i.e., A1, then it becomes harder as you need to finish A2, B1, B2 in order to reach C1 course. However, if you think you have what it takes to achieve and if you manage well, and target one level per quarter, then it is definitely possible. Hope this helps you! read less
