You should prepare by starting from basics if you have enough time left for Gate exam. Otherwise you should solve 2 or 3 previous papers before starting your study, so that you will know the difficult portions on which you have to concentrate. After doing enough study and solving questions of previous years papers try to discuss concepts with your friends, this will help you retain them in your memory for long time. In a discipline way solve at least one paper a day sitting alone for 3 hours. read less

It is almost impossible for a human being to prepare for GATE in every stream It will be beneficial for you to focus on a single stream. For proper preparation you need a coach. I'm a Gate coach for computer science engineering.

Should I join rank improvement batch of made easy or panacea institute if my gate rank is 4436 from self study.
Both are good. However, please avoid institutes like Gate Forum. They will offer low tuition fee and huge discounts. However, the GATE course material is of poor quality and faculties is mostly freshers.
