There are, however, notorious hackers who have gained recognition for their activities. Notable examples include Kevin Mitnick, who was once one of the most-wanted computer criminals in the United States but later became a security consultant; Adrian Lamo, known for turning in Chelsea Manning for leaking classified documents; and Gary McKinnon, a British hacker who infiltrated U.S. military computer systems. It's essential to emphasize that hacking, especially when done without authorization, is illegal and can have serious consequences.
