Rajalakshmi - Certified German Teacher with 7 years in Germany & TELC B2 expertise

I am Rajalakshmi, a passionate German language teacher with practical experience of living and working in Germany for seven years. My time in Germany has given me an in-depth understanding of the German language, culture, lifestyle, and everyday communication. I teach German with a focus on helping students develop not only their language skills but also the confidence to use German naturally in real-life situations.
I hold a Master of Engineering (M.E./M.Tech.) from Anna University, which I completed in 2014. Along with my engineering qualification, I have pursued several German language and professional certifications in Germany. I completed the DTZ B1 certification through the Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF) in 2023, followed by TELC Deutsch B2 through telc Language Tests in 2024. I have also completed Leben in Deutschland through BAMF in 2025 and a professional certification in Elektromobilität from alfatraining Bildungszentrum GmbH, Germany, in 2023.
My professional experience in Germany has also played an important role in developing my language skills. I worked as an Electrical Engineer in Germany for three years, where I had the opportunity to experience the German professional environment firsthand. This helped me understand how German is used in workplaces, professional conversations, everyday interactions, and practical situations. I bring these experiences into my teaching so that students can learn language that is useful beyond textbooks.
My teaching approach is practical, interactive, and easy to understand. I believe that learning German should involve more than memorising grammar rules and vocabulary. I focus on helping students understand how the language is naturally spoken and used in everyday communication. I use practical examples, speaking exercises, and real-life situations to help students gradually become more comfortable expressing themselves in German.
I structure my classes according to each student’s current level, learning goals, and pace. Every lesson has a clear objective, followed by explanations, interactive exercises, speaking practice, and practical examples. I encourage students to actively participate during the sessions and ask questions whenever they have doubts. This helps me understand their areas of difficulty and adapt the lessons accordingly, making the learning process more personalised and effective.
I conduct both online and offline German classes and use PowerPoint presentations and a whiteboard to support my teaching. These tools help me explain grammar, sentence structures, vocabulary, and other language concepts in a clear and organised manner. I also incorporate German cultural context and situations from everyday life into my lessons, allowing students to understand not just what to say but also how and when German is naturally used.
My goal is to help students develop a strong foundation in German while becoming confident in using the language in real-world situations. Whether students want to improve their communication skills, understand German culture, prepare for professional situations, or simply become comfortable speaking the language, I aim to provide structured and practical guidance.
