Great Answer, Jesvin. To add to that, I would also go on to say that one's experience and knowlege, as both a teacher and a live musician, are also very important. Also, in terms of goals, you have to know if your goals are 1. To become musically independent and contribute in a holistic way when placed in a musical situation? 2. To just learn the drums as a solo instrument? 3. To do the grade exams? I haven't met a single teacher till today who focuses on all three, and it seems more and more that the object of learning always falls into these three categories.
