There are quite alot to mention.. But the most common ones are : 5A, 7A, 2B

Of course, like any other musical instrument, there are different types of drum sticks. A beginner should buy what is recommended by the teacher. Costlier ones are not necessarily better for a beginner. If you are studying at an Institute, whatever is provided by them should be good for you.
