It depends on you. Both are good. PHP is open source that's why people prefer PHP but there is no debugging or compilation in PHP. ASP.NET includes the compilation and other stuffs. Again, using ASP.NET you can rapidly create web application. In ASP.NET you will learn C# also which helps in lots of different functionality and feature of .NET. In PHP you can only create web but by learning and go with .NET you can also upgrade yourself for web application, windows forms application, WCF, WPF, Silverlight, Windows Store Application. read less
